Tobias & Comer Law Issues Statement on Behalf of Johnny Bowman Regarding Shooting Incident

On January 13, 2026, the law firm of Tobias & Comer Law issued the following statement regarding the shooting incident involving Johnny Bowman and the Semmes Police Department.

Johnny Bowman and his family are humbled by the love the community has shown after Johnny’s unwarranted and preventable shooting at the hands of law enforcement, which occurred at Bowman’s Auto Air in Semmes in the early morning hours of January 4. This outpouring of support speaks to Johnny’s character and shows what he means to the community.

His multiple gunshot wounds were life threatening and required emergency surgery. Thankfully, Johnny was upgraded from the ICU to a private room just this week, but he has a long road to recovery.

“All citizens are entitled to the right to be free from unlawful entry into their home or business and to be protected from police misconduct,” said attorney Bryan Comer. Attorney Lacey Smith added, “Johnny is committed to ensuring that those responsible are held accountable and to doing what he can to prevent this from happening to other law-abiding citizens in the future.”

Tobias and Comer Law firm is actively investigating this case on behalf of the Bowman family and requests that if anyone has information, please contact attorney Bryan Comer or Lacey Smith at 251-432-5001 or info@tobiascomerlaw.com.
